Thanking the community

Renewing ageing infrastructure in a busy CBD environment is never easy, but our team on the Hawkestone & Molesworth Wastewater and Stormwater Renewal project have been equal to the challenge and are nearing completion.

Work like this wouldn't be possible without the patience and understanding of the people who live, work and play next to our construction sites.

So we teamed up with Wellington Water and GHD for an extra-special site visit for the team at Kids Reserve. They jumped at the chance to check out the cool machinery they'd been eyeing up. The kids (and adults) from Kids Reserve were safely escorted to a sectioned off area of the site, and got to have a go on some of the tools of the trade.
It was great to see the engineers and construction experts of tomorrow get some first hand experience on the job – and they definitely put a smile on the faces of our hardworking crew.

And this was a fun way of being able to say thankyou to one of the groups affected by the work.

Thanks to our very own Damus Ogle and Amy Sutherland from GHD for putting in the work to make this happen.

This project is being completed on behalf of Wellington Water and Wellington City Council
