Large Diameter Pipe Bursting

horizontal-rule

This week we successfully completed a 630OD Pipe Burst on Wallace St on behalf of Brian Perry Civil & Wellington Water as part of an Beca designed project.

We replaced approximately 80m of 450 dia. Reinforced Concrete stormwater pipe with a new 630OD PE100 SDR17 pipe using our Grundoram Koloss pneumatic pipe ramming tool from TRACTO-TECHNIK GmbH & Co. KG.

Large diameter pipe bursting is certainly not for the faint hearted. This one presented some significant challenges and was a great opportunity for us to learn and grow as a team.

Welding and moving an 80m long 630OD pipe string, working around some significant strategic services and occupying a section of a busy Wellington arterial route; were just some of the difficulties we had to overcome.

We could not have done this one on our own but there are too many organisations that provided outstanding services to detail here. Check the shout out below and if you are not in there hit us up in the comments.

We have the capability and we cannot wait for the next one!
